Traditions!
Fiddler on the Roof anyone?? That song always comes to mind when I talk or think about traditions.
I am excited to come up with traditions for our family. Wade and I have a few. We always go somewhere for our anniversary (no gifts). We use gift cards we get for Christmas to buy each other gifts. Naked Movie Night--which will probably get put on hold until the kids are out of the house...
I really like traditions, really really. So I have been thinking about what kinds of traditions we should have with our children. Tonight we are going to take Lil Wyatt to the pumpkin patch... I hope that will become a loved tradition for our little ones. Another we have discussed is for Christmas. We don't want Christmas to be about getting everything and anything they ask for. I never believed in Santa so that is something that I really want to do for our kiddos. But as far as gifts go, we want to keep it simple. One gift they want, One gift they need, One gift to wear, One gift to read. 4 gifts from us (Santa) seems like plenty right?. We would really like to do some sort of service project to, we haven't narrowed that down yet--it might be an ever changing from year to year. Halloween, I want to make their costumes together. Easter would be family picture time each year.
I am so excited for our family to make traditions together. It is times like these that can't wait to have a quiver full.
